After 15 years of working on both sides of the sleep/alertness equation, Reid Blank saw the need for an event that links doctors, industry pioneers, researchers and other associated professionals under one roof. So he created oneāThe Big Sleep Show™.
During his tenure as Associate Executive Director of the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), Reid was the point person for the foundation's cross-country relocation; several initiatives (such as The Pickwick Club and National Sleep Awareness Week); and a number of major sleep awareness and education programs, including a national insomnia tutorial for physicians and the 4th World Congress on Sleep Apnea.
During his six years as vice president of Alertness Solutions (AS), a scientific consulting firm for 24/7 safety-sensitive companies, Reid managed several key projects. His responsibilities included converting company services into practical products; marketing Cephalon's multi-state "Alertness Matters" public awareness initiative; and heading up recruitment for the first-ever occupational health study on sleep and the workplace for sanofi-aventis.
Reid has worked with a wide range of governmental and corporate entities, from Johnson & Johnson, Hilton Hotels, Gulfstream Aerospace and JetBlue to Searle/sanofi aventis, the California Department of Transportation and the national associations of Fleet Administrators and Governors Highway Safety Representatives.
